Each point scores a sample of the works deposited with Crossref in that year, as those records are today — so a strong early year can mean good metadata then or updates since. Thin years (fewer than 10 records) — hollow points in Lines, dimmed cells in Grid — have noisy percentages. Results appear as each year finishes; switch View to a radar-plot Grid to watch each use case’s concept profile change year to year. Short ranges sample finer: set From = To for a monthly view of one year, a span of up to four years for a quarterly view. Grouping by Publication year instead follows the issued date — for backfiles deposited long after publication the two views can differ sharply. Crossref scores are not comparable to DataCite scores: the catalog here holds only the 28 concepts the Crossref schema can express.
